Review
First of all, I would like to thank Macmillan for sending me
this book for review, it means a lot! I received this book for an honest
review. As you may know, this is the 3rd
book in the Awakening Series which continued on from the MASSIVE cliffhanger in Dreamless.
Honestly, I am lost for words. I can say nothing but
positive things about Goddess. This book was sensational and funnily enough, surprising.
Not having read the prequel for several months made me blind going into this
book, and I am delighted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I connected with
Helen as if I was right by her side experiencing all that she had, feeling all
the emotions she had felt. And there are a lot. Trust me.
From Lucas, Helen and Orion becoming blood brothers in
Dreamless, I knew that there was a risk of war as it was foretold in the prophecy. However the setting and events
were unexpected yet well suited to the plot. Also, love is a key theme of the
book, involving a lot of happy endings and relationships which I thought was
fabulous!
I especially enjoyed the major Greek theme that flowed
through the book as it really deepened my knowledge and added an extra
something to the plot. The storyline was not what I had expected containing
some twists here and there- some good, some not so good.
From the very first line of Goddess I was HOOKED and had a huge
grin on my face as I predicted that the last book was going to be the best
book. My prediction happened to be true. All the questions I had been asking
were answered and all the things that didn't seem to make sense configured
themselves by the end of the book.
I am so sad to see this series finished as it really was
what got me into reading and is a series I will always remember. I am definitely
looking forward to future books by Josephine Angelini as she is one of my
favourite writers and has proven to be a spectacular writer. I very much enjoy
her writing style and unique ideas for books. You NEED to go and get this book
on the 23rd! It will not be a disappointment whatsoever. I give this
book my highest recommendation!
